The
Love Songs of Gershwin
featuring Rachel Luren and the Ron McCurdy Quartet
is a concert celebrating
some of Gershwin's most well known love songs. Each
song has been arranged in a very contemporary fashion
without sacrificing the integrity of the music.
There is rare video footage of Gershwin interwoven
into the concert to educate and entertain the audience.
There will be opportunities to see Gershwin's development
as a young Tin Pan Alley composer and examining
his refuge in South Carolina while composing the
countries first Black Opera, Porgy and Bess. The
evening promises to be filled with familiar melodies,
wonderful interpretations of poignant lyrics and
videography of Gershwin's short, but very prolific
life.
The
Ron McCurdy Quartet recently having returned from
a successful series of concerts in Tokyo, Japan
and Columbia, SC are is now accepting bookings for
the 2009-2010 concert series. Please click on this
